Their Eyes Were Watching God is a fundamental book in American literature. Zora Neale Hurston, the author, lived in Eatonville, Florida. She was associated with the Harlem Renaissance. She was also an anthropologist who documented African-American life. Eatonville is just a short drive from Orlando, Florida. I took the trip to see where one of my favorite authors lived. It is a sweet little town that still retains a lot of its old school charm.
