Coach Trunk Show

Coach had some beautiful pieces for their exclusive capsule collection featured at their blogger event. My favorites were the trench coat with lace appliqués and a shoulder bag with hand done leather accents. I’m ready for fall fashion, even if Florida isn’t! 🧥💼 🌴💕

Then I was photographed by Coach with their cool Polaroid camera. They asked me to style the Polaroids on top of their lookbook. It came out looking very cool. They described me has having a "feminine, yet edgy look," which I think perfectly describes me! I love being ladylike but also looking strong and fashion forward. The Coach jacket that they styled on me perfectly combines these two elements.

The origin of the trench coat lies in British men’s military attire for World War I, created by two brands, Burberry and Aquascutum. Previously, men had needed brightly colored jackets on the battlefield so they could identify what faction they belonged to. With the invention of long range automated firearms, brightly colored uniforms just made them a sitting target. The new khaki color blended in with the mud of the no man’s land in the trenches, and the newly invented waterproof fabric helped to protect them from the elements. It was later in the 20th Century that the trench coat was adopted as casual wear by both men and women.

A close up of the bag styled with the jacket. Coach said that each piece of leather on that bag is sewed in by hand. I can only imagine how much time and care goes into making each one.
