The Nutcracker - Ballet vs. Movie

News of the upcoming Nutcracker and the Four Realms Disney movie reminded me of my ballerina days. Every year the Nutcracker is the biggest performance that draws in a full house for weeks. 30th Anniversary of the Jack Kerouac Project

Jack Kerouac was one of the great beatnik writers and he lived in a house in Winter Park, Florida for part of his career. This is where he penned The Dharma Bums. The house is now an area of historical significance and has been turned into the Writers in Residence Program, a foundation for contemporary writers today. Voluminous Hair Tutorial using Rootie the Rootlifter by VOLOOM

I was sent this awesome new product called Rootie the Rootlifter by Voloom to try and I was impressed by its results. It creates volume in the hair by teasing it out with a crimping effect and seals the shape with heat. As a certified stylist I can say that it definitely works and has an ingenious design. Normally to get this kind of effect you would have to tease out the hair with a comb and hairspray it for hold. With the Rootlifter I can just plug it in and get that effect

This coat stands on it's own and is a simple statement piece. It its easy to style and is light enough for the milder parts of the Florida winter where it gets down to the 50's and 40's Fahrenheit. The lighting that day was absolutely beautiful and I was feeling that mojo. I set up the camera and got some of my best shots. Orlando Photoshoot - Fire and Pets Charity Calendar

One of the first photo shoots I did was for the Orlando Fire and Pets calendar, created to help rescue animals. I was with the Aveda team, and the photographer was Michael Rueter from Los Angeles. The photoshoot was done outside the Orlando Fire Museum, which is a local landmark on its own. DRIP - live Orlando show on iDrive

The DRIP show in Orlando, Florida on Idrive is one of my favorite local performances. This show combines dance with art as they use materials such as paint and sand during the performance. It's a really beautiful and visually stunning show, completely unique with that art house look. Hurricane Irma - The Preparation

As I write this for my blog I am by candlelight because of Hurricane Irma.
