Guide to Disney After Hours: Animal Kingdom

Thank you so much to Disney for inviting me to Disney After Hours as media! The first event was at Animal Kingdom and there was only a 5 minute wait for Pandora! When we got to the park before it closed for regular hours there was a 160 minute wait for the Pandora ride Flight of Passage. My boyfriend and I rode it twice! It’s so beautiful how the Tree of Life in the center of the park lights up at night, and the Rivers of Light show was as beautiful as ever! Everything was made more fun by the treats that are included with your ticket, such as a Mickey ice cream. We rode Expedition Everest for the first time and it was even scarier and more fun at night, as you can’t see where the yeti is coming from. Overall such an amazing time! You can get your tickets on Disney’s website for select nights here. For annual passholders, tickets are $30 off. 😄🎡🍦🎈🎠📸❤️ Photos by @gmsmith8490.

Found this cute photo spot in the Asia section of the park in between the roller coaster called Expedition Everest and where the safari is located. I have a bunch of followers in Nepal and this spot inspired me because it looks like their country!

In the Dinoland section of the park at Animal Kingdom. A section that's fun for grown up as well as kids, there are a few cute rides in this section of the park! The Primeval Whirl is a mini roller coaster that twirls you around in all directions as you go along the track. There’s a cute dinosaur ride that is kind of like Dumbo or the Aladdin ride at Magic Kingdom, and a more in depth one about dinosaurs. I love this section of the park! You also get an ice cream bar included with your ticket for the event! I picked out the classic Mickey ice cream bar, and the strawberry bar at Hollywood Studios. You can see how open the park was, and it made a perfect spot for an impromptu photoshoot.

As there are less people allowed in the park during an after hours event, the wait times are ridiculously low! Some rides only had a five minute wait time, I couldn't believe it! It was absolutely amazing and my boyfriend and I were able to ride our favorite rides multiple times. This is part of the waiting queue for the Avatar ride and normally it is jam packed with people and takes over an hour or two just to get on the ride. I had always wanted a photo in front of the Avatar mural and at After Hours I was finally able to do so! It felt amazing to be able to have the room basically to ourselves for a few minutes to do a photoshoot.

The Avatar section of the park is beautiful during the day, and absolutely jaw dropping at night. You can see in the pictures here how the world of Avatar is brought to life in the Disney Parks. Bright vibrant shades of blue, purple, pink and hints of green and yellow give a bioluminescent feel as you explore this section of the park.

The Rivers of Light show is a beautiful performance at night in the Asia section of the lake, you get to see the lotuses that float along the river open up and all the different kinds of animals join in the show. It features light and music and formerly live performers. You can see clips of the show in the YouTube video linked at the top of this article!

The event at Hollywood Studios is next and it was so good! I made it to Toy Story Land for the first time, and it gave me all the childhood feels, my mouth dropped open and my eyes wide in wonder at all the Pixar magic. It was definitely my boyfriend’s favorite part I would say. Photos from Hollywood Studios in the post linked here!
